GREENVILLE, SC — RFIDKNOW LLC, a leader in industrial RAIN RFID antenna and portal hardware, today announced it has been awarded a $50,000 demonstration grant from the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA). The funding supports RFIDKNOW’s continued development of cutting-edge RFID and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies designed to improve operational visibility and system performance across industrial environments.
The grant was part of SCRA’s latest round of funding aimed at accelerating innovation among high-potential technology companies across South Carolina. RFIDKNOW was recognized alongside a select group of technology companies receiving support to advance new technologies and drive economic growth in the state. South Carolina Research Authority provides funding, mentorship, and resources to help early-stage companies scale, with the goal of strengthening South Carolina’s innovation ecosystem and fostering job creation.
RFIDKNOW’s award specifically supports demonstration efforts for its RFID technologies, including its patent-pending FlexAntenna multi-linear antennas and modular portal systems. These technologies are engineered to deliver highly accurate read performance and enable organizations to deploy RFID systems more effectively across logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain environments. As a Greenville-based technology company, RFIDKNOW continues to play a key role in advancing IoT-enabled solutions that provide real-time data and operational intelligence.
“Receiving this grant from SCRA is a strong validation of the innovation and impact of our technology,” said Joe Hoerl – Principal Consultant at RFIDKNOW. “We are focused on solving real-world challenges in RFID deployment at very large scale, and this funding will help accelerate our ability to demonstrate high-performance solutions that drive measurable results for our customers.”
SCRA’s grant funding is made possible in part through its Industry Partnership Fund, which incentivizes private-sector investment in innovation through state tax credits. This model enables SCRA to reinvest in emerging companies and support technologies that contribute to long-term economic development across South Carolina.
By leveraging SCRA’s support, RFIDKNOW plans to expand its technology demonstrations, strengthen customer adoption, and continue advancing the performance and scalability of RAIN RFID systems. The company’s focus on antenna innovation and system optimization positions it at the forefront of next-generation RFID deployments.
This milestone underscores RFIDKNOW’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and leadership within the rapidly evolving RFID industry, while reinforcing South Carolina’s growing reputation as a hub for advanced technology development.
