RFIDKNOW Launches Conveyor Tunnel for High-Performance RFID on Conveyor Systems

May 20, 2025

Greenville, SC — RFIDKNOW, a rising leader in industrial RFID hardware, has announced the launch of its newest innovation: the RFIDKNOW Conveyor Tunnel, a configurable and high-performance RFID read solution built for integration with both powered and gravity-fed conveyor systems.

The RFIDKNOW Conveyor Tunnel leverages the company’s advanced Multi-Linear Slim FlexAntenna Units, delivering exceptional tag read accuracy in fast-moving, high-throughput environments such as distribution centers, fulfillment hubs, factories, and automated sortation lines. Designed with adaptability in mind, the Conveyor Tunnel is compatible with a wide range of conveyor configurations and throughput requirements.

“Our customers asked for a robust RFID solution that could be easily integrated into their existing conveyor systems—and we delivered,” said Joe Hoerl, Principal Consultant IoT at RFIDKNOW. “The RFIDKNOW Conveyor Tunnel brings powerful read performance to one of the most critical points in the supply chain: product movement and validation.”

The standard tunnel configuration includes four Multi-Linear Slim FlexAntenna Units arranged to maximize read coverage as items pass through. For more complex or challenging applications—such as densely packed items, mixed-material packaging, or variable package heights—the system can be expanded to include up to six antennas, ensuring optimal performance using the same conveyor tunnel.

Each antenna unit is housed in a durable, low-profile enclosure that’s engineered for industrial environments. The tunnel’s modular design allows for flexible positioning of antenna panels above and on the sides of conveyor lines, supporting both horizontal and vertical read zones for comprehensive tag capture.

Built with ease of integration in mind, the Conveyor Tunnel works seamlessly with all leading RFID readers and middleware systems, making it a plug-and-play solution for integrators and operators alike.

“Whether it’s verifying shipments, tracking work-in-progress, or enabling automated sortation, the Conveyor Tunnel adds a powerful layer of visibility and control,” added Hoerl. “It’s another step forward in our mission to make RFID solutions smarter, faster, and easier to deploy.”

With the launch of the RFIDKNOW Conveyor Tunnel, the company continues to expand its growing line of industrial RFID solutions, following the success of its FlexAntenna Industrial Portals and Slim Portal.
